Choosing what to wear for an interview is an important part of making a good first impression. Here are some tips.
For Women:
- Natural looking make-up
- Go light with cologne or perfume
- Light colored nail polish on freshly manicured nails
- Suits in conservative colors: Navy/dark blue, dark brown or dark grey with white or cream colored blouse with a modest neckline.
- Simple jewelry, no more than a ring on each hand, one necklace, a bracelet and a watch. Avoid jewelry that dangles or makes noise.
For Men:
- A conservative haircut is best, if you have a beard make sure that it is neatly trimmed
- Very light cologne, if any
- No more than one ring on each hand with a professional looking watch
- Conservative suits in solid dark colors or a blue/gray light plaid in wool or wool blends
- White shirts are the best, but other colors are fine - no prints, solid colors only
- Ties in solid or small patters - avoid anything bright or flashy
