Maintaining eye contact with the person you are speaking to at a meeting or interview shows that you are interested. Company managers will probably maintain eye contact longer than a subordinate employee would. Tactile communication, or communicating by touch, can be either helpful or harmful in business situations. For example, a firm handshake can be interpreted as being confident, but a lingering touch on someone's arm or shoulder might be seen as an invasion of personal space.
